Registered athletes from any Club can compete at a Gala Day, Registration on arrival at the Clubhouse then proceed to marshalling for each event. Please note maximum entries for each age group apply at Tamwort Gala Day (this may not be the case at all Clubs)

Events are called over the PA and athletes are required to go to the marshalling tent to hand in their ticket & record their Name/Number and Club in the event they wish to compete in. No event is compulsory – you choose your events from those available on the programme.  From the marshalling tent the group of athletes are escorted to their event (parents are not allowed to follow). All athletes and parents must abide by the “Rules of Competition” as set by Little Athletics NSW – (these rules are available www.lansw.com.au) Gala Days are not as formal and/or competitive as Zone/Regional/State championships, however rules must be followed to ensure the safety of athletes and volunteers. All competitors must wear shoes in all events (spikes can be worn in age groups U11 and above. Spikes must be removed at the end of the event) Parents are not allowed onto the field during competition unless they are a volunteer. 1st, 2nd & 3rd placegetters will receive medals unless it is an age feature event (written in red of the programme) the winner of a feature event receives a trophy.

UNIFORM: All athletes to be registered with LANSW Inc. Approved centre uniform to be worn with individual athlete number and age number attached.

CANTEEN – Canteen facilites are available on the day

Tamworth Club Volunteers: As Gala Days are a fundraiser for the Club, the day must be run by Tamworth Club volunteers. A parent for each child competing must be prepared to volunteer, duties requiring volunteers are canteen/BBQ, marshalling / escorts to walk atheletes to events, time keeping and event assistance. A roster will be compiled for duties,  you can nominate for preferrred duties and times otherwise you will be allocated. If there are not enough volunteers the Gala Day will be cancelled.
